Let’s get them started

Start with a
free assessment.

Start with a short swim at Bishopstown so our team can recommend your child’s level. You do not need to choose a programme yourself.

Search assessment courses

This opens the general course search. Select Bishopstown and look for swimming assessments. The assessment is free; lesson fees and places depend on the programme.

  1. Find an assessment

Choose Bishopstown and the swimming assessment category in the course search. If no assessment is listed, ask reception for help.

  2. Meet the instructor

A short swim helps us understand your child’s confidence and ability.

  3. Find their group

Discuss the recommended level and available lesson places with reception.

Pack for a little pool time.
Bring swimwear, a swim cap and a towel. A parent or guardian must stay on-site.

Lessons near you

Find your
swim team.

Lesson options and availability vary by centre. Your local team can help with the right course, times and next steps.

A little reassurance

Before the
first splash.

A few things to know before your child joins us in the water.

Ask our swim team
Does my child need to know how to swim?

No. Water Safety & Fun welcomes beginners aged five and over. Starfish introduces water confidence, and children progress at their own pace.

What should we bring to the assessment?

Bring swimwear, a swim cap and a towel. Goggles are optional for the assessment and required for lessons. A parent or guardian must stay on-site.

How does my child move up a level?

Each level has skills to work towards. Instructors move swimmers on when they can confidently and consistently meet those competencies.

Where can I check prices and class times?

Course search lets you choose a centre and swimming category. Check the dates and price on the course details before booking. Reception can help if the course you need is not listed.
